Buyer question
How to claude code skills?
The short answer: create a folder with a SKILL.md, give it a clear name and description, and put it where Claude Code looks for skills.
A Claude Code skill is a folder containing a SKILL.md file. The file starts with YAML frontmatter (name and description) followed by Markdown instructions. Personal skills live under ~/.claude/skills/; project skills live under .claude/skills/ in the repository.
- Create a folder named after the skill.
- Add
SKILL.mdwithnameanddescriptionfrontmatter. - Write the instructions in Markdown below the frontmatter.
- Place the folder under
~/.claude/skills/(personal) or.claude/skills/(project).
